On June 18th, Shuji Kurokawa lectured at the national convention of housing company GL Home. (GL Home is owned by LIXIL Group, which now also owns the U.S. company American Standard and the German company Grohe.) Shuji spoke about one important change in the Japanese single family housing market: the birth of a "house value" in addition to a "property value," which has been slowly developing over the past ten years in the Japanese market. He discussed why and how housing companies in Japan should adapt themselves to this change and explained how houses can gain value through good design.
